Write to Publish: Writing Introductions In-Person
Writing effective introductions
Whether you're writing a journal manuscript, coursework, or beginning your thesis, the introduction is crucial. It’s where you state why your work matters, highlight the key questions, problems, or gaps, and outline how you plan to address them. This workshop will teach key models and linguistic strategies you can use to craft introductions that engage readers and set the stage for the rest of your work.
This workshop is held in person. You'll receive a reminder 1-2 days before the event.
Write to Publish is a 4-part series. Please register for the sessions you plan to attend:
- Writing Titles and Abstracts (May 20)
- Writing Introductions (May 26)
- Rewriting Your Literature Review as a Review Article (June 2)
- Writing Book Reviews (June 3)
