DESCRIPTION:What are English Language Workshops: Everyday Writing?\n\nThis 
 five-part program provides support in academic written communication for 
 graduate-level students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL). 
 This program provides students an opportunity to improve their writing in 
 typical academic and professional scenarios. The scenarios 
 include:\n\n\n	Writing emails to professors and/or advisors\n	Providing 
 written feedback to students as TAs\n	Avoiding plagiarism\n	Writing 
 abstracts for academic audiences\n	Writing cover letters to potential 
 employers\n\n\nThis program is divided into five workshops that run over 
 three weeks. Each workshop is two hours in length. This program is offered 
 only in the Fall semester.\n\nAre these workshops for you?\n\n\n	Are you a 
 graduate student\, postdoctoral fellow\, or visiting scholar who speaks 
 English as an Additional Language?\n	Would you like to develop your 
 confidence and skills in academic writing?\n	Would you like a safe place to 
 practice and develop writing strategies for a variety of academic 
 contexts?\n\n\nIf you answered yes to these questions\, then this program 
 is for you!\n\nWhat can you expect as a participant?\n\n\n	Participants 
 will engage in discussions around the challenges and strategies for 
 successfully writing emails to advisors and professors\; feedback to 
 students (as TAs)\; paraphrases\; abstracts\; and cover
