Research Lifecycle: Analysis in ArcGIS Online Online
Registration will open 4 weeks before the workshop.
This workshop follows Intro to ArcGIS Online. Attendees are expected to have a working knowledge of the ArcGIS Online interface. In this workshop we will learn how analysis works in ArcGIS Online. Attendees will create GIS layers and buffer, select, and determine walking distance. Other analysis may be explored depending on time.
ArcGIS is a Geographic Information System (GIS); a software program for working with maps and geographic data. A GIS allows you to work with any data that you know a location for (eg. addresses, latitude / longitude, census locations, name of a place...). ArcGIS Online can be used in your browser on any computer and is available to the University community by requesting an account. ArcGIS Online has less mapping capability than ArcPro but is easier to use and to learn. We’ll learn some GIS fundamentals and how to get started using ArcGIS Online.
