Finding the "Best Fit": Developing a Journal Publishing Strategy (HYBRID) In-Person

This workshop introduces graduate students to the scholarly publishing landscape and explores practical strategies for identifying journals that align with their research, audience, and professional goals. Participants will learn how to evaluate potential publication venues, consider factors such as scope, readership, and impact, and develop a more strategic approach to the publishing process. Through a guided, hands-on activity, attendees will apply these concepts to their own research interests or projects by creating a preliminary shortlist of potential journals.

This workshop is open to U of G Graduate students with any level of publishing experience, including those who are completely new to scholarly publishing.

This event is Hybrid (in person in Room 120E and online via Microsoft Teams). Participants will be sent an invitation for online attendance.
