Virtual Writing Café
Virtual Writing Café Online
Are you feeling isolated? Do you struggle to make time for your writing? Do you wish you had a writing buddy to keep you accountable?
Kick off every week by joining other writers at the University of Guelph for dedicated, protected time for your writing and research projects!
The Virtual Writing Café is an online space where writers can set aside distractions and join a campus-wide community to focus on writing and research projects. Every Monday morning, join an online co-working and accountability group that you can access from anywhere, whether you are on campus, doing fieldwork abroad, or signing in from an actual café! Each session lasts 2.5 hours with set times for goal setting, writing sprints, regular breaks, and even some socializing.
The Virtual Writing Café is open to everyone: undergraduates, graduates, post-docs, faculty, staff, and visiting scholars. If you are studying or working at the University of Guelph, we would love to welcome you!
Register below to have the Zoom meeting information sent to you every Sunday.
Please note that this space is intended for independent writing time. Your host will be working or writing alongside you and will not be available for tutoring or writing instruction. We will ask that microphones be muted during writing sprints. Cameras may be on or off, but we suggest keeping your camera on as much as possible, because it is motivating to see other folks typing, thinking, and writing.
