Open Scholarship Open House - featuring guest speaker: Philippe Mongeon Online

Join us for an online event, the Open Scholarship Open House on April 13, 2021. This event will kick off with a prominent researcher in Open Access: Philippe Mongeon. Philippe will speak about his experience in scholarly communication as a researcher and practitioner and will present his vision for the transformation of scholarly communication.

The discussion continues as we open up the floor to questions, conversations, and collaborations around open scholarship. We will have several scholarly communication content experts available to consult with you from 11-2. We are excited to speak to you about your research, answer your questions, and help you open your research to the world!

I want to make my work openly available – where do I start?

Here are just a few topics we are happy to address:

Why should I care about making my work open?

I’m ready to publish, how can I retain my author rights?

Which creative commons license should I choose for my work?

I notice you don't have a fund for Article Processing Charges (APCs) – why? Are there any discounts on APCs?

How does the library support Open Access Journal Hosting?

How can I provide open textbooks and other educational materials to my students?

How can I deposit scholarly work in the Atrium Institutional Repository or the University of Guelph Research Data Repositories?

How does the library support Research Data Management? How do I create a data management plan?

How can the library assist with the creation and integration of researcher identifiers such as ORCiD and ResearcherID?

What about research metrics, can the library help with these?
