According to the Economist, "the world's most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data". In this two hour workshop, participants will be introduced to strategies for finding and creating data needed for research. Participants will effectively search online data repositories and be introduced to collecting data using APIs, web scraping tools, and through web surveys. Participants will create a short survey using Qualtrics.

Learn the best practices that will help you work effectively, save time, and set yourself up with the most effective skills to work with the world’s most valuable resource …. data.  

Please bring a laptop computer for your own use during the workshop.
